Women of Vision Program Begins

Women of Vision's (WOV) Blue Group kicked off the school year by team building with Captain Michael Smith of the US Navy Reserve.

We also have a brand new group of freshmen girls joining The Purple Group. Please contact Melanie Bush or Laura Koch for more details.

EWA Honored by CISD

On May 17, 2011, the Conroe ISD Board of Trustees presented the Executive Women’s Alliance with the Patron Influencing Education (PIE) Award.

Shown accepting the award are Karen West and Linda Evans.

Sherry Sunderman, a counselor at Conroe High School, introduced the EWA to the board and told about the work EWA has done with its Women of Vision (WOV) program. Ms. Sunderman stressed how much the program meant to the girls and what a difference it had made in their lives.

Many of the girls involved in WOV had never considered the possibility that they might be able to attend college. But because of their involvement with WOV, some of those girls are now completing their first year of college. EWA has contributed over $20,000 towards scholarships for the WOV graduates. Karen West and Karen Smith were recognized for the time and the great effort they have contributed as the mentors to these first groups of WOV graduates. Karen West and Linda Evans accepted the PIE award on behalf of all the members of EWA. EWA is honored to have received this award in recognition of its work with the young women of WOV.

The Executive Women's Alliance is a not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) organization based in Montgomery County, Texas.
